Why Social Media?

Social media data presents valuable opportunities for advancing social science research. Its unprecedented scale enables the exploration of phenomena such as public opinion dynamics, social networks, and shifts in collective ideation with remarkable granularity.

Currently, my research focuses on analyzing text data from Twitter and Weibo to understand public opinion and uncover the underlying dynamics driving its polarization or extremization.
